What do you do for a living?
Not what you’d expect! I work in the aerospace industry. I manage a handful of electrical contracts and make sure that projects like SpaceX’s Falcon 9 and Northrop’s JSF-35 program are fully stocked on the electronic components needed to build their aircraft.

What is one thing no one knows about you?
I’m adopted and have grown up knowing and loving my birthmother. I grew up in Texas and love to fish and hunt but am also extremely passionate about musical theater, so the tomboy scale fluctuates on a daily basis.

What is #lifethroughBVGs like for you?
Exciting! Always changing! Never boring!

What is your favorite part about being part of the Ambassador Army?
Being a part of such a great cause! There is not enough of an emphasis put on mental health in this country, let alone the mental health of our veterans who served our country with honor and valor. It is a privilege to be able to represent such an amazing cause!!

What is your favorite activity to do in your free time?
I love theater, so I’m always exploring LA for new theater companies and supporting their productions. I recently saw The Woman In Black at the Pasadena Playhouse and that was a spectacular work of art. I also play violin and teach in my spare time.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
This is always a hard question for me to answer. I’d like to say that I see myself being a successful working actress/singer, but the truth is, I don’t know where I’ll be in 10 years. My life has always been about going with the flow and moving with the tide. The only thing I truly want to be in 10 years is happy.

What would you tell your past self just starting out in your industry?
Develop thicker skin! This industry is full of rejection and if you let it discourage you, you’ll never get anywhere! Be confident in yourself and know that being rejected doesn’t mean you aren’t good at what you do; it is not a reflection of your talent or character. Just keep swimming!

What is the biggest failure you’ve had and how did you overcome/learn from it?
My biggest failure happened extremely recently. I had allowed myself to become so beaten down and feel so worthless, that I rushed into getting married because I longed to feel loved and wanted. It ended up being an extremely unhealthy relationship that became toxic and ended about a month ago. It completely broke me and made me feel like I didn’t deserve happiness, I didn’t deserve to be loved. My biggest failure was trying to find my worth in someone who didn’t see it. I learned and am still learning to know that I am worthy of love and that it’s ok to be myself. Slowly, I am learning that the right people will accept me and love me without requiring me to bend to be their version of perfect.

What keeps you going when the going gets tough?
My friends and my big sister, Lisa (who is also a BVG Ambassador). Lisa has held my hand through countless panic attacks and given me tough love when I needed it. She is my rock and my biggest supporter and cheerleader. My story would be different if I didn’t have her in my corner. My friends have supported me through this experience and have helped me see my worth.

Why would you suggest buying a pair of BVG Sunglasses and/or becoming a BVG Ambassador?
Not only are BVG sunglasses extremely well made and good quality, but 50% of their profits go to support our veterans and their mental health. It’s a fantastic cause. The better question would be why wouldn’t you suggest buying a pair of BVG Sunglasses?? That list would be WAY shorter!!
